Elk County Savings and Loan made a generous donation to Pheasants Forever Chapter 630 in January 2008. Karen Marshall is shown presenting a check for a Remington Model 870 Express 20 gauge pump-action shot gun to Jeff Yeager, Chapter 630's Banquet Chairman. This gun is made in the USA and will be used by young boys and girls during the club's annual bird hunting Safety Day as well as the annual Mentored Youth Pheasant Hunt. "Not every kid has access to a small shotgun," said Jeff Yeager. The right size gun for a small person makes the shooting easier on their shoulder, more accurate and safer. The club also has more then a few youth guns to raffle at their annual banquet that will be held September 6, 2008. Jared Kuleck was instrumental in convincing Karen this was a worthwhile cause for the kids of our community. Jared is a fifth grade teacher at Ridgway's Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School and knows that more kids would hunt if they had the opportunity.
Thank you again to the Elk County Savings and Loan for their generous donation. We would like to increase the number of guns on hand for the safety training as well as youth guns for our raffles. Please contact Jeff Yeager at 814-772-8624 if you are interested in donating for this great cause.
