PF Chapter 630 Local Habitat March 2008

Date: Saturday, March 01, 2008

Chris on John Deere tractor plaing at Fox Township youth area 2007 Pheasants Forever is a national organization that focuses on habitat improvement. All animals benefit from the food and cover work planting annuals such as corn, sorghum and sunflower as well as many perennial grasses.

The greatest threat to all animal species is loss of appropriate habitat for breeding, food and protection. Your local PF Chapter 630 has been busy once again spending more then $111,000 in 2007. We are proud to announce that our chapter ranked in the top 10% of dollars spent nationally on habitat through Pheasant Forever. The North Central Chapter 630 is also the most dollars spent in Pennsylvania on habitat. This is a great accomplishment by the dozen active members. The other nationally leading chapters are all located in the more traditional pheasant states of Minnesota, Iowa and Colorado. Our active chapter helps get more birds allocated to Elk County. More exciting work is planned for the future as we celebrate our 10 year anniversary of Chapter 630 in 2008.
